Evolution of the material composition of the Early Precambrian metabasites of the Kola region

The paper describes evolution of the Precambrian mafic rocks of the Kola region. This study is not possible without ranking of objects according to age of their protoliths' formation. For this purpose the method of search of trend differences of rocks groups in the specified number of sets has been developed. Its use has revealed new regularities of evolution of substance of the Kola region Precambrian complexes, manifested in the cyclical changes in the rock composition in the course of geological time.

Oil-and-gas content of the Neoproterozoic sedimentary complex of the Timano-Varanger belt

The prospects of the Timano-Varanger oil and gas basin development have been considered. The basin includes buried at great depths powerful sedimentary strata of the passive margin of the Archean continent in ancient Meso- and Neoproterozoic and the Norwegian-Mezenskaya rift system developed in Caledonian and Hercynian time. The spatial and temporal regularities of geodynamic processes determining types of formation of deposition of traditional and non-traditional types of hydrocarbon raw materials have been described. Basing the analysis of data on the isotopic composition of carbon in the gas from the wells it has been established that its nature is determined by mixing different genetic types.
